It’s still too early to encounter fiery leaves in the Pacific Northwest. A few of the maples and oaks have begun turning, but mostly the trees are still green. I found and harvested acorns for the neighborhood squirrels.
I took these photographs in the Cordata District, near Whatcom Community College. I tossed in a close-up of Mount Baker overlooking North Bellingham and some pond scum, only because it looked otherworldly.
The best places to take autumn foliage is Mount Baker and the North Cascade Highway.
