After cleaning mold in a basement rental and listening to a loud stereo filtering through the ceiling, I decided to walk a mile to the lake. Walking along Samish Way is one way of risking one’s life as cars blow by at 35 mph or faster. But there were beautiful wild flowers along the way and houses to die for.
Once I reached Lake Padden safely, I grabbed my camera and took pictures of waterfowl and strange plant growing out of the lake. Lake Padden for whatever reason falls on the darker side, tone wise so it’s not easy to get a good photo. Yet, I manage.

That top image is remarkable. Love the smooth water with the blue highlights against the dark textured duck. Nature provides so much repetition of shapes – you caught that well with this one
Thank you. I felt blessed that day because as you say nature provides the shapes, and I’ll add tone and light. The water was glimmering or is that shimmering up close.
