Intuitive Coaching 101–Blasting Through Limitations

The most challenging lesson to developing self-love comes when we recognize the myriad of limitations that prevent us from living a contented life.  Most of the limitations find roots in our early childhood as we adopted the beliefs of our parents, teachers and other adults.  We adopted these beliefs even when they caused our stomachs to churn because fitting in equates peaceful existence in our minds.

However, some people resisted adopting these beliefs as long as they could or until peer pressure exerted its force.  Fitting in at school or in the community, receiving awards or straight A’s at school revolved around playing a role or playing the game.  But to some of us, this felt like play and certainly I never felt authentic playing these games, writing the “right” answers on tests even though my intuition told me otherwise.  I squelched my intuition in favor of joining the fray of limited thoughts, beliefs and actions.  Truly, believing in impossible dreams was the equivalent of believing in Santa Claus or buying into Disney fantasy thinking. What’s a practical girl to do?

That was then, and this is now, as the saying goes.  We know better now.  We have seen people manifest miracles until miracles become everyday language, and yet, those limiting thoughts persists.  Listening to Abraham-Hicks videos on YouTube or reading Esther Hicks’ books, listening to affirmation CDs or taking manifestation workshops give us a nudge in the right direction.  In the meantime, we dig deep to find the lies that rule our lives.  We release ourselves from thought forms that enslave us and by doing so and choosing to live our lives from trust, instead of doubt, transforms morphogenetic fields.

Have you ever watched a movie or television show where someone asks someone how they’re doing and the person answers, “Same old, same old…”? Boring.  If we only have a certain number of days to walk and breathe upon the earth, then why choose the same old? Well, perhaps, the person who chooses a mundane life does so not to upset the cart.  He or she chooses not to live an exciting life so that they don’t end up in the neighborhood or community gossip.  But, that’s not living an authentic life and living this way leads to depression, overeating, and self-loathing, not to mention envy of people living our dream lives.

Steps to blasting through Limitations:

  • Listen for limiting words or phrases such as, “I can’t do that because…” or “Yes, but….” or “I’ve tried that before and it didn’t work.”
  • Look for refusal to take inspired action
  • Examine daily habits and rituals then ask, “Do these rituals serve me or harm me?”
  • Examine diet, exercise, and intake of water
  • Reassess the people in our lives
  • Reassess attitudes (do they expand our consciousness or not?)
  • Take action in removing limitations using energy tools (try Emotional Freedom Technique or Consciousness Access Tools)

Learn more about Consciousness Access Tools at Dain Heer’s and look for “free tools” or look up Gary Craig’s EFT on YouTube (if it’s still online).  Also look for Law of Attraction books at your local library, tune into spiritual radio shows with Blog Talk Radio, Contact Radio and Hay House Radio (though with Hay House you now must sign up for a free newsletter to listen to the podcasts).  Also check out companies/publishers such as GAIAM and Sounds True.

Releasing from limitations expands bank accounts, brings new opportunities in every area of our lives, including bringing new friends, clients and employers. If one tool doesn’t bring expansion then try a different tool. We’re all different and at different levels of spiritual growth so a tool that works wonders for a friend, might do nothing for you.  Don’t give up and never beat yourself up when transforming an old habit such as living limitations.

Bon voyage!
